Girl Scout Partnership

The Hermann-Grima/Gallier Historic Houses has formed a partnership with the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. We now officially offer workshops for four Junior Girl Scout Badges. These workshops are available to Junior Girl Scout Troops belonging to the Girl Scouts Louisiana East

General Information:

Logistics, scheduling, and chaperone requirements.

Architecture:

Come and learn about local architect, James Gallier, Jr.  Tour the French Quarter, and discover how you too could become an architect.

Local Lore:

Explore the French Quarter during the 19th century.  Find out how New Orleans has changed over the years, and learn to predict future changes.

Outdoor Cook:

Ever wondered what your lunch would be like if you lived over a century ago?  Come and cook in an 1830s kitchen, and find out just how different it could be.

Yarn & Fabric Arts:

Young girls in the 1800s would spend much of their time doing needlework.  Discover the many ways women worked with fabric, and learn to do them too.

(minimum of 1 adult required for every 6 scouts; 1 additional adult required for groups larger than 6)
