Each Spring, wine connoisseurs across the nation attend Amazing Grapes, an annual event encapsulating the appreciation of fine wines, unique cuisine, and elegant homes that New Orleanians have cultivated over many generations.  The evening features both silent and live auctions and is a showcase for exquisite wine, art, and antiques and directly benefits the Hermann-Grima and Gallier Historic Houses.    Auction donations of wine stem from the vineyards of California, South America, and Europe, with offerings from New Zealand and Australia, as well.  Local area restaurants delve into their personal stock and numerous bottles are gleaned from private cellars throughout the area.
