MISSION
The mission of TWE is to “continue the legacy of The Woman’s Exchange, established in 1881, we dare to make a difference in historic preservation by restoring and maintaining the Hermann-Grima/Gallier Historic Houses (HGGHH) and interpreting their contribution and place in New Orleans.” (Adopted 2008)
VISION STATEMENT
An AAM accredited, leading authority on historic preservation in the French Quarter, the museums strive to offer educational, entertainment and interactive programming, while always maintaining the integrity and passion of our founders as well as our commitment to historic preservation.
CORE VALUES
PROFESSIONAL REPUTATION: We will operate the museums in accordance with AAM standards and achieve national recognition for excellence in accreditation practices.
COMMITMENT/RESPONSIBILITY: We are committed to ethical and fiscal responsibility, stewardship, and leadership in our community.
ACCESSIBILITY: We are committed to public access and diversity. We will offer a variety of educational and public programs through dynamic classes and varied tours in collaboration with other private and non-profit organizations.
SCHOLARSHIP AND KNOWLEDGE: We will provide an accurate interpretation of history. We will preserve the museum sites and care for items in our collection through best practices, research and scholarship.
PROFESSIONALISM: We will follow the professional standards and practices of the industry.
